Effects of Energy drinks that are so harmful to your health.

I have been around people who consume high amounts of energy drinks, personally being one of the victims I used to consume a lot. Sometimes I could take 2 to 3 bottles of energy drinks a day, eventually, I got addicted to it. So I decided to do some research on the health effects it might pose on our Bodies. According to a study by the U.S. centers for disease control and prevention, 8 percent of young people drink energy drinks weekly. But are energy drinks safe?

Energy drinks have caffeine which has a lot of negative side effects on the body, the side effects include;

1. Increased heart rate

2. High blood pressure

3. Heart palpitations

4. Insomnia

5. Dehydration

6. Restlessness

Most caffeine withdrawal is associated with headaches, fatigue, anxiety, tremors, and irritability. Energy drink also have other contents added to improve energy, such as taurine, ginseng, vitamin B, carnitine, and bitter orange. I've gone to clubs and alcohol bars and seen people mixing energy drinks with alcohol, this also poses them at a greater risk. Mixing the two liquids increases the chances and likelihood of engaging in risky behavior, especially drunk driving. This may give the perception that they are not drunk as they aren't as drunk as they really are. And when they feel fewer effects from the alcohol they tend to drink more.
